The usage of videoconferencing in healthcare up 190%

The usage of videoconferencing on the Swedish healthcare network (Sjunet), has increased dramatically after a central infrastructure was introduced.

Since the launch of the central infrastructure in 2008 statistics of the usage has been gathered. Reports of the usage is created each month and analyzed every 6 months. As the analysis of the first 6 months of 2010 was presented an increase of 190% could be shown compared to the same period of time 2009. Currently the average month has 567 conferences between county councils in Sweden. The conferences inside each county council are not included in the statistics.
